Montale Black Aoud by Montale Perfume. Released in 2006, Montale Black Aoud perfume is a long-lasting scent with incredible silage. Its star ingredient is oud, a rare oil formed by agar trees that have a certain mold. Very few trees produce oud, making it one of the most valued ingredients in the world. Some people even refer to the resin as “liquid gold.” Other notes in this sensual, intense fragrance include musk, Indonesian patchouli, mandarin orange, rose and French labdanum.
This scent is emblematic of Pierre Montale’s entire perfume collection. With these and other fragrances, Montale combined the French tradition of perfumery with the luxurious ingredients of the Orient. While he did not open his eponymous perfume house until 2003, he has years of experience creating scents for queens and kings in Saudi Arabia. He makes sure to use the best raw materials and sells his creations in aluminum bottles to protect them from damaging sunlight.
